A modern take on a barn
conversion, with a new gable and clearstory window bringing

House Extension, Great Kingshill
|
|
A large extension,
comprising two bedrooms, a kitchen and a dining room, to
what was originally a farmhouse in the green belt. The work
included the alterations, reroofing and refurbishment of the
existing property. The ceilings of the new bedrooms follow
the line of the roof. The handmade replacement windows carefully
replicate the arching and details of the original sashes.

New House, Lee Common
A new-build five-bedroom
house for a private self-developer. The original two-bedroom
bungalow on the site was demolished. The house was tailor-made
to the individual requirements of the client but built to
a tight budget. The sketch perspective is an example of what
was originally presented to the client at the start of the
design process.

House Extension, The Chalfonts
|
|
A single-storey
extension to a Voysey-style house. The high-vaulted ceiling
rising to follow the shape of the new roof and an inglenook-style
fireplace combine to create an imposing room whose scale is
now in keeping with the previously enlarged house.

House Extension, Beechwood Avenue, Little Chalfont
A two-storey
rear and side extension comprising two bedrooms, a bathroom,
a living room and a kitchen-diner. The floor level steps down
to follow the slope of the land, creating higher-ceilinged
rooms. A small light-well brings a shaft of light into the
heart of the building.
